Greyhound Standing
This is a copy of “Eos” from a mid-19th century cast by the sculptor John Francis (1780-1861). It was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1848. Eos was one of Queen Victoria ’s favourite dogs. Legend goes that Francis indulged Albert with a small role in the modelling of the original. Castings by Francis are at Osborne House, Isle of Wight, and Windsor Castle.
